our 7 yr old chihuahua has a large growth on the end of his tongue. it is dark red with some blue in it. hhe has had 2 other growths in the last 3 yrs. neither as large and both were removed surgically. vet was not able to determine the problem.



the growths don't seem to be painful, but do cause discomfort or diffculty eating. if you have an email address where i can send a picture, i would be happy to do so.

get it surgically removed and histopathology examination done on it so it can be characterised precisely.

melanoma is my first thought but histo (+/- grading) is the gold standard for diagnosis and prognosis.
