our 7 yr old chihuahua has a large growth on the end of his tongue. it is dark red with some blue in it. hhe has had 2 other growths in the last 3 yrs. neither as large and both were removed surgically. vet was not able to determine the problem. | |
the growths don't seem to be painful, but do cause discomfort or diffculty eating. if you have an email address where i can send a picture, i would be happy to do so.

get it surgically removed and histopathology examination done on it so it can be characterised precisely.
melanoma is my first thought but histo (+/- grading) is the gold standard for diagnosis and prognosis.
