3 yr old qh gelding. accute renal failure last feb, anorexia, loss of appetite. blood work done, showed elevated renal values, otherwise nsf. did fine during summer, gained weight back, energetic and eating well. 3 days ago, edema in scrotum, gave 10 mls lasix iv, swelling decreased within 24 hours. tonight when i got home he is depressed, not wanting to eat grass or grain. is currently blanketed so weight loss was initially not noticed, however anorexia appears to have returned. he has appeared normal up until today. was even ridden yesterday with no issues. i also had ionized ca + pth ran with nsf. any thoughts?
